Stove Top:
Combine all ingredients in a stock pot
High heat until it reaches a simmer, reduce to medium-low
Simmer for about 2 hours or until the apples are soft all the way through
Mash the apples with a whisk, spoon or potato masher
Simmer for another 2 hours
Strain all the solid fruit using cheese cloth or a fine-mesh strainer
Serve with orange peel and cinnamon stick garnish
Yield: 4 quarts
